Lori Gracey at TCEA reports on a new tool for Digital Citizenship called SurfSafe. This unique tool verifies not text articles, but pictures. How does it do this? The browser plug-in compares the picture with similar photos across the Internet, checking to see if the image was changed with photo editing applications like PhotoShop, and the plug-in can be configured by each user based on their most trusted websites.
So, if you see a picture on a clickbait ad of someone burning the flag, is it real or not? Surfsafe can help you identify that photo as real or not.
