How to teach students about Clickbait

Clickbait on the Internet is now as ubiquitous as the grackles that infest the Kroger parking lot. You can't go there without seeing flocks of them.

A similar experience awaits us on lots of popular web pages: "You won't believe what she looks like now!", "Why no one will hire such & so in Hollywood anymore", "Doctors hate this product!", "Never eat these three foods again", and others.

Lorey Gracey at the TCEA blog does a good job of explaining the modern phenomenon of Clickbait, its irritations, its attractions, and how to prevent students from falling prey to it. Please click here to view the blog entry.
