Curriculum Documents, Copyright, and Google Classroom

Blackline master of Periodic Table of Elements
Hello teachers. Posting assignments and lessons online are an essential part of keeping today’s students up to date with their classes. But, are you posting worksheets from other websites on your own website? This could be a copyright violation.

U.S. Copyright law gives the copyright holder the right to distribute his or her work, including online posting.

How can you legally use a worksheet with your students? Post it to Google Classroom, which requires a username and password to access.

Whether you are using a blackline master from the district’s adopted curriculum, or
something from a site such as Teachers Pay Teachers, Google Classroom is your friend.

If you have any questions, please ask your campus librarian.
