Next, in this series of free programming languages for Chromebooks, is another that is not specifically a Chromebook app. Again, this is a web-based solution called Ideone (think Integrated Development Environment One).
This is a bit simplistic in its programming environment - there is no window into a virtual server, like there is with Code Anywhere. But it is a very good solution for those teachers wanting to teach syntax. Languages from Ada95 to Whitespace 3.0 are covered - 85 in all. After using it, I get the feeling that it's best for beginners writing short coding exercises.
Users can sign up for a free account, configure their account settings and preferred programming language, and they're good to go.
